Hello race fans! Here is your St. Francois County Raceway Race Recap for April 15th, sponsored by Smitty’s Garage out of Paterson, Missouri. For night number two of the 2017 season, the racing fans were given a night full of racing action. Night number two had the original four classes of Super Streets, B-Modifieds, 410 Sprint Cars, and A-Modifieds. Tighten those seatbelts as we get started on how the night of racing went.

Up first for night number two was the Super Street class. There were 14 Super Streets in attendance divided into two heat races. Heat number one had seven contenders in it and was won by Jason Neel in the 94N after starting sixth and still managed to jump out in the lead early on. Finishing behind him in second place was the 71 of Joe Merritt after starting fifth place while Robert Hicks crossed the finish line in third place in his 32 car.

Heat number two also had seven contenders in it and was quite eventful. Of the seven cars that started the heat race, only two managed to cross the finish line. Taking the victory was the 99 of Chuck Adams and finishing in second was the 44R of Ricky McCullough. Even though no other car finished the race, the 44C of Christopher McCullough was the last to pull off the track putting him at finishing third place in heat race number two.

This week’s Super Street main event was way more successful than last week’s. The Super Street main event managed to get all fifteen laps in the book and taking the win for the second time this season was Jason Neel in the 94N after redrawing a fifth place starting position. Right behind Neel, in second place, was the 23 car driven by Kevin Mosier after starting in the back due to a car change. Taking third place was Joe Merritt in the 71 car with Tony Wyatt finishing in fourth place in the 67 car after starting in the tenth position. Crossing the finish line in the fifth place position was Robert Hicks in the 32 car.

At St. Francois County Raceway, we like to change the running order up a little. Instead of running the A-Modified class second, we ran the B-Modified class second. The B-Modified class had 21 cars in attendance divided into three heat races. Heat race number one had seven cars scheduled to start and was won by the 3D of Lou Driemeier. Finishing in second place, from the fifth place starting position, was the 74 car driven by Jeff Whitter. Bring his car across the line in third place was the number 2 car driven by Eric Sarakas.

Heat race number two also had seven scheduled to take the green flag and finishing out front in first place was the 27W of Jeremy Welborn. Second place went to Kyle Jarrett in the 10 car with Rookie Chasten Boen bringing his 21 car across the line in the third place position after starting in the sixth place position.

Heat race number three, like the others, also had seven cars take the green flag. The winner of heat race number three was Shane Blair in the 10S car. Behind him in second place was the 147 car of Kyle Stolzer making his way from the fourth place starting position. Bringing his car across the finish line in third place was Mike Savage after starting sixth in the 05 car.

The B-Modified feature was action packed from start to finish. There was a battle for the lead during the whole race. Finishing on top of that battle was the 147 of Kyle Stolzer with the 10S of Shane Blair hot on his tail. Taking home a third place finish was the 27W of Jeremy Welborn after redrawing a sixth place starting spot. Fourth place went to Lou Driemeier in the 3D ride while Rookie Chasten Boen crossed the finish line in the fifth place position in the 21 car.

Up next was the 410 Sprint Cars. There were 20 Sprint Cars in attendance that were divided into three heat races. Heat race number one had seven cars scheduled to take the green flag and was won by last week’s feature winner Joe B. Miller in the 51B car. Second place went to the 7C driven by Tommy Worley Jr. with Robbie Standridge finishing in third place from the sixth starting position in the 17*.

Heat race number two also had seven cars scheduled to start and finishing in first place was the 32 of Timmy Montgomery. Second place was the 99G of Scottie Gretzmacher after starting in the fourth place spot. Crossing the finish line in third place was Steve Short in the 18S from the seventh starting position.

Heat race number three, unlike the other two, had six cars scheduled to take the green flag. Finishing in first place was the 35 of Joey Montgomery with Jason Keith finishing in second place in the 28 car after starting in the sixth place spot. Bringing in the third place finish was the 67 of Joey Boyd after starting in the fifth spot.

Unlike the other classes, the top two in each heat race a dash to see who starts where within the top six. Winning the dash was the 35 of Joey Montgomery with his brother Timmy Montgomery right behind him in the 32 car. Third place went to the 7C of Tommy Worley Jr.

The 410 Sprint Car feature was 25 laps of racing and at the end of it all, Joey Montgomery ended up in victory lane with a Triple Crown in the 35 car. Second place was the 7C of Tommy Worley Jr. Timmy Montgomery crossed the line in third place in the 32 car while Robbie Standridge brought home a fourth place finish after starting seventh in the 17*. Bringing his car across the finish line in the fifth place position was last week’s feature winner Joe B. Miller in the 51B car.

The final class of the night was the A-Modified class with 12 cars in attendance divided into two heat races. Heat race number one had six cars scheduled to start and taking the win was the 25S of Kodi Savage with David Chilton finishing in second place in the 69x car. Crossing the line in third place was the 18X of Jeremy Greenwalt after starting in sixth place.

Heat race number two also had six cars scheduled to start and taking the win was the 56 car driven by Jeff Asher from the third starting position. Taking second place was the number 7 car of Tim Nash while last year’s A-modified champion Billy Smith finished third in the 14 car.

The final main event was scheduled for 20 laps with only 11 of the original 12 cars taking the green flag. After 20 laps, Billy Smith took the win from the sixth place redraw spot in the number 14 car. Finishing in second place, and putting up a battle with Smith, was the number 7 of Tim Nash. Jeff Asher drove the number 56 car to a third place finish while Kodi Savage put up a battle with Asher and finished fourth in the 25S car. Bringing home the fifth place finish was the 18X car driven by Jeremy Greenwalt.
